What would happen in the above "ideal" society, additionally, if adolescents not only received extraordinary coping skills training but also received a top shelf education that focused on the long term and short term injurious outcomes associated with alcohol abuse and drug abuse? Such an emphasis on teenage alcohol and drug abuse facts, along with more highly developed coping skills training, it is declared, would help teenagers avoid the noticeable appeal associated with teen drinking and, accordingly, would significantly diminish the abusive drinking behavior demonstrated by adolescents in our country.
There are certainly a number of defensible reasons why so many of our adolescents drink in a destructive manner. Such a complex predicament demands a thorough and more pertinent response by our parents, students, politicians, and educators so that our teenagers can learn how to cope with life's predicaments in a more fruitful and accountable manner rather than gravitating to unhealthy drinking to solve their problems.
