I think that the best solution for me might simply be to get one of the newer window mounted air conditioning systems. They have become less costly and cheaper, and they use less energy than ever before, as I have heard. It seems like a more efficient solution all around, because I can just spend my time in that area when I want to be cool, without having to pay to run the air conditioner to cool the whole house, which is a massive expense. I think that centralized air will have to wait at least another year at this point. I would rather spend my money on trips to the beach.
