3. Hold the shade level on top of the window opening, where you wish the shades to be placed. Make a pencil mark on the wall where each bracket needs to go. Remove the brackets from the head rail and screw them into the wall at each and every marked point.

4. Snap the head rail into place ensuring that every bracket is secured.

5. In case your shade has a valence attachment, now is the time to place it as it should go. Test the cords to your Roman Shades, make sure nothing is caught in them and that they lift up and lower easily and smoothly.

As you can see, it's not as hard as you may have thought to install Roman shades. I would only advise you to get professional help if you are not comfortable with tools. There are also certain people who are not comfortable putting holes in their walls- if this is you then you need to get a professional as well.
