Last week I traveled to Poland from England. Being an Englishman I obviously am not familiar with the Polish language, thus I encountered a lot of difficulties due to this. I needed somebody who could have translated the language, i.e. I wanted a translator Polish to English, but I was helpless to find one.

The difficulties began from the first day of my visit. The hotel I was staying in surprisingly did not have any decent English speaking attendants. Only a supervisor could talk to me. From the door keeper to the waiter, everybody Polish! Frustrated I decided to take a stroll around the hotel. While wandering, I came across a Flower dealer - beautiful daffodils and adorable roses packed her flower bouquet.

I was to ask her about the cost of one flower bunch and this lady simply kept staring at me for 5 minutes. Having already gotten used to the treatment I made a decision to get a young boy who know how to translate Polish to English. But as I said I searched, but could not locate one. The vacation thus had this sort of incidences all the while.

Luckily my job was not of speaking to the Polish people much, so I was able to focus on my work. Sometimes such events occurred to amuse me, that people are so reluctant to learn the worldwide language. You can say that was true patriotism, but in the search of true patriotism they lost some foreign currency that could have had some influence on the economy!

But I was additionally ignorant to go into a foreign language nation without knowing anything about them. Now that I have came back, I am learning the Polish language - at least partially. Lastly as they say in Polish - pozegnanie. (I used a translation Polish to English software program for the last statement)
